Gloucestershire-based centre for regional businesses and agritech entrepreneurs shortlisted for second award
/Based at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester, the Alliston Centre has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s Constructing Excellence South West Built Environment Awards. The category is Project of the Year – Building Project. The building design is one inspired by the forward-thinking vision of the RAU and associated organisations: Farm491 and GFirst LEP.
Located within the University’s campus, the RAU had the vision to commission a building that would create a collaborative entrepreneurial community to support regional business development and UK-wide agritech innovation. Over half of the Alliston Centre was set to be used for Farm491, the University’s expanding agritech innovation and incubation hub. The rest, a new home to the Cirencester Growth Hub - part of the Gloucestershire Growth Hub network - supporting local enterprises to achieve their potential, expand and create jobs.
Since its launch the innovative new centre has been very well received by its occupants, demonstrating the excellent team work between our client, design team and the contractor (Midas).
